KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—On the evening of April 8, a successive flow of cars moved into the seashore of the breezy Sizihwan Bay for the sixth performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company in Kaohsiung.
Among the audience were Mr. Sun Kengcheng, president of Diang Fong Industry CO. Ltd. and his wife. They were seeing Shen Yun for the third time. Eager to share his impressions at intermission, he said, “Shen Yun is indeed ‘divine’!”
Shen Yun presents an all-new program each year, and Mr. Sun had been looking forward to this year’s Shen Yun tour.
He said, “Shen Yun’s overall performance, spanning the past and present, features a smooth transition from heaven to earth. With the application of animated backdrop scenes designed with digital technology, the stage extends endlessly, the divinity and fairies descending down from Heaven and emerging on the stage right then and there. I found this incredibly creative.”
He continued, “Every program is marvelous and of a high standard. I am particularly impressed by The Herding On The Grasslands, the male dancers demonstrating masculinity and high morals, against the backdrop scene of extensive grasslands. We were transported to the Mongolian terrain.”
“The Monkey King Outwits Pigsy is quite a familiar topic. The more valuable part is that Shen Yun brings to life the characters’ features and characteristics. It’s remarkable.”
He said with admiration, “A performance fusing vocal performance and choreographed dances is completely presented in such a short time and with such mastery of craft.
“It can be inferred that under the superb guidance of choreographers and instructors, students naturally perform well and excellently. Therefore, I would say, Shen Yun is indeed ‘Divine.'”
