This winning game day dip is sure to be a crowd pleaser. It is a meal in itself with lean hamburger, tomatoes, onions, and cheese.

To keep the game day spirit, my family named the dip after one of our favorite National Football League players for the 2014 playoffs. It most likely will be a tough call for which player to name your dip after.

Dex Game Day Dip

1 pound lean hamburger
1 tsp basil, chopped (fresh or dried)
Salt and ground pepper
1 small can tomatoes, diced (seasoned with spices, chilies or plain)
1 package  (2 cups) frozen onions, chopped
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup mayonnaise

Pre-heat oven to 350° F. Cook hamburger in skillet until brown. Drain any excess liquid. Add seasonings and tomatoes to meat and cook a few more minutes. In a pie pan-sized baking dish, mix meat and remaining ingredients. Cook for 20-35 minutes or until bubbly and brown. Serve hot with favorite chips. Go Team Go!
