Poor Eating Habits Can Start From Birth

Research has shown that our early eating habits, including whether we were breastfed and for how long, carry on for many years. And it’s no secret that poor eating habits can lead to childhood obesity.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that moms attempt to breastfeed their babies until six months of age and then combine breast milk with other foods through one year of age. While more than 80 percent of U.S. mothers attempt to breastfeed, only 52 percent breastfeed for the full six months.
