Some vaccinated people and people infected with COVID-19 are reportedly being diagnosed with a new type of disease called VEXAS syndrome—an autoinflammatory disease discovered in 2020.

Many people are familiar with autoimmune diseases, often caused by dysfunction among the adaptive immune cells; problems within the innate immune system often cause autoinflammatory diseases.
