The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a “public health alert” over the weekend for ground beef products sold across the United States that may be contaminated with a “potentially deadly” strain of the E. coli bacteria.

The raw ground beef products were produced on March 28, 2024, and have a packaging date of “032824” and a “use/freeze by” date of April 22, 2024, the agency said. The products have an establishment number, “EST. 960A,” in the USDA’s mark of inspection on the packaging, it said. The product labels can be seen on the USDA’s website.
