TAIPEI, Taiwan—On the evening of April 19, Fang Chin-Kuo, director of a government agency’s Counseling Office under the Executive Yuan, attended the Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company’s first of three shows at the Taipei Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, on its return to Taiwan’s capital city.

After the show, Mr. Fang said, “In a short span of two hours or so, it [Shen Yun] exquisitely presented Chinese culture’s essence and legends to let the audience appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture, through dance, movement, and original music.”

Mr. Fang commented on the solo vocalists performances, saying the songs resonated with him. “The songs sung by the solo vocalists made me naturally follow their singing chord. I felt that I resonated with them. With the songs we felt we were closer.” Additionally, he said, “It seems that there are truths, in the lyrics of every song.”

Among the 20 or so programs, he was especially impressed by the last piece The Opening of Heaven’s Gates. He noted, “Heaven’s Gates were opened with three-dimensional simulation technology very vividly. I felt as if the past, the present and the future were connected altogether.”

Mr. Fang praised the music played by the Shen Yun Orchestra. He said, “The coordination was perfect. I felt it very exquisite and melodious.” He also mentioned that from the audience’s thundering applause, we could tell all of them really enjoyed it.

In conclusion, Mr. Fang expressed his good wishes to Shen Yun, saying, “I wish Shen Yun [well] touring around the world, not only Taiwan and America, but also mainland China, someday in the future.”
