‘Inspiration, wisdom, and hope is the message’

SAN DIEGO—When asked if she had received any Chinese wisdom from the show, Mrs. Currie said, “They are communicating a message of spirituality. They are sending a message to America. It was done in a beautiful and non-intrusive way. That was the big message. It was the heart and the soul of Chinese people.”

She was talking about the Divine Performing Arts show that she watched with her husband in San Diego on Dec. 26.

A self-described showgoer, Mrs. Currie was keen to point out differences between Divine Performing Arts and other shows she has seen: “This is so different. This is so very touching. All of the performers had their whole bodies into the performance. They were very dedicated and in total synchronization. They loved what they were doing. The costumes were exquisite. The color coordination was magnificent. Everything was all so well done. I cannot say one thing I didn’t like about it. If you were to ask me what I like best, I can’t give you an answer. I’ve never been to anything like this. Never, ever. This is the first time.”

“The show is really just top, top, the best. I would not miss it next year, for sure.”

Mrs. Currie, who works in medical sales, was impressed with the music, too. “The music was perfect. The Chinese instruments I heard were great and well thought out. It is an unforgettable experience.

“The message I got from the show was that ‘we need to come together. The world is in crisis and we need to come together and be loving and caring and help one another.’”

She said she also felt a kind of energy from the performers: “The energy from the performers came through and brought tears to my eyes at times.”

She said all of the stories touched her heart. “Inspiration, wisdom, and hope is the message, and lots of love.”

San Diego will be host to three more shows over the weekend.
