“My favorite so far is the Tibetan Dance of the Snow-Capped Mountain, because the dancers are athletic, well-timed, and professional.”

PASADENA, Calif.—Divine Performing Arts (DPA) kicked off its first of eight shows in Los Angeles Tuesday evening Dec. 30 at the classic Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The mood was relaxed as laughter could be heard from the lobby while theater-goers gathered and conversed before the show.

Scott, a financial analyst, liked the show’s aesthetics.

“I like the backdrop. [It’s] really nice in how it interacts with the dancers on stage; it coordinates well. Scott went to the show at Kodak Theatre a couple years ago, and he feels it has gotten even better. In addition to the backdrops being creative and innovative, Scott was enthused with the pianist. “The piano player is very good; I like the piano player; the piano player is wonderful.”

Bill Lavely works at a casino in the nearby city of Commerce. It’s his second year coming to the show. This year, he came with his wife and step-daughter.

“We enjoy coming to the show; we enjoyed the Falun Gong content. All the performances make you feel good. My favorite so far is the Tibetan Dance of the Snow-Capped Mountain, because the dancers are athletic, well-timed, and professional.”

The Chinese New Year Spectacular will play through Sunday Jan. 4 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. For more information please visit DivinePerformingArts.org
