PASADENA, Calif.—Sunday afternoon was the last chance to experience the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company in action at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Over 70 cities will be graced by the show in the coming months as part of their 2009 tour, bringing traditional Chinese performing arts to the world.

Ms. Chavez and her two daughters were thrilled at having seen the last show in LA. “It looked so effortless ... it just flowed really smoothly. The choreographic ... It’s just really beautiful. The moment I go to school, tomorrow, I’m going to be bragging about coming here!” exclaimed one daughter. Both of the girls were trained in ballet and play musical instruments in school. After seeing the show, they were both interested in learning traditional Chinese music and dance.

The atmosphere of the show particularly impressed Ms. Chavez. “It made me feel like I was really there,” she said. “It made me feel like it really was spring—it was warm.” Ms. Chavez also noted elements of historical grandness and spirituality she thought were good.
