DALLAS—Stephanie Lynne manages their family band where her daughter, Samantha Lynne, plays bass. On Jan. 4, 2026, mother and daughter enjoyed Shen Yun Performing Arts together at Eisemann Center.
“The orchestra, it does teleport you back to that time period. It just sounds so peaceful,” Ms. Samantha Lynne said. “It’s amazing.”
“I got a lot of inspiration because it’s just awesome!” Ms. Samantha Lynne said. “You’re not exposed to all the music. ... So it’s really amazing to me.”
One instrument that shone under the spotlight was the two-stringed erhu.
“I loved it!” Ms. Samantha Lynne said. “I felt more at peace and a sense of happiness because it was all just positive to me—everything about the music.”
“The man, the baritone voice, it was triumphant. It was something else; it was excellent,” she said.
“I’ve never seen classical Chinese dance,” said Ms. Samantha Lynne, adding that she thought it was amazing.
She said she has known about Shen Yun for some time, and she was glad to be able to see it.
“It was amazing. I’ve always wanted to go since I was a kid. ... I’m in awe of it,” she said.
