ANCONA, Italy—On the evening of Feb. 3, Shen Yun Performing Arts’ New York Company presented its second consecutive sold-out performance at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona, Italy, earning enthusiastic and prolonged applause that echoed throughout the venue.
All tickets for the three Shen Yun shows in Ancona this season were sold out well in advance. Many audience members said that they were profoundly touched and inspired.
Mayor Praises Shen Yun’s Efforts as ‘Remarkable’
Re-elected last year for a second term, Maurizio Greci, the mayor of Sassoferrato in Ancona, Italy, was enthusiastic in his commendation after watching Shen Yun.
“The choreography is captivating, the colors are dazzling, and the costumes are equally exquisite!” he marveled. “The choreography is exceptionally beautiful, and the overall performance is simply magnificent.”
He further elaborated, “I admired the grandeur of the stage design and the meticulous attention to detail that was evident in everything. I was particularly taken by the artists’ graceful dance steps—it appeared as if they were (floating), not walking, yet it was breathtakingly beautiful.”
Mr. Greci also noted, “You could genuinely sense a divine culture, rich in profound meanings though distant from our own.”
Traditional values encompass reverence for the divine and the principle of karmic retribution. He said, “In today’s society, these values are absolutely crucial and hold immense significance for our world. Yet people rarely discuss them now. We must carry this legacy forward.”
“Their [Shen Yun’s] efforts are truly remarkable, yet thought-provoking. Why can’t such a meticulously crafted, historically rich, and rigorously researched production be shared with their fellow Chinese? The reasons are likely self-evident.”
Former Defense Department Official: ‘Shen Yun Artists Are Brave’
Gregorio Giungi, who was also in the audience, was full of praise after watching Shen Yun. “Very beautiful, very beautiful! The choreography is incredibly moving, and the dance artists are exceptionally talented,” he said.
A retired Italian Army lieutenant colonel, Mr. Giungi is a military strategy and communications expert, as well as a full-time writer.
He expressed deep admiration for Shen Yun’s program in exposing the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of faith and lauded the courage of Shen Yun’s artists.“The performance was captivating, and the radiant use of light and color was truly breathtaking,” Mr. Giungi said. “I’m delighted to see so many people here today. I must say, the value of the ticket greatly surpasses the price!”
Product Designer Praises Shen Yun for Spreading Kindness and Tradition
Mr. Bianchini and Sandra Simula expressed high praise for Shen Yun, with Mr. Bianchini saying, “We traveled all the way from Fano to see this show. We adored it! We’re still savoring the choreography, stage effects, brightness, and colors. It was extraordinarily beautiful and moving!”
“Some scenes had such [a] powerful visual impact—whether it was the colors, backgrounds, formations, dance movements, or the expressions of dance artists. ... We were fortunate to sit close to the stage, so we could clearly see the dance artists’ smiles and facial expressions. It was genuinely beautiful,” he continued.
Shen Yun is dedicated to reviving traditional culture, presenting the essence of 5,000 years of divinely inspired civilization to the world, and enlightening hearts.
Ms. Simula said this deeply resonated with her. “Absolutely. It’s a completely different philosophy, yet very thought-provoking. It allows you to see another world from a different perspective—a world that may still be unknown to us.”
Ms. Simula expressed her sincere hope that one day, Shen Yun artists could practice freely without persecution. She also shared her heartfelt wish: “May they (Shen Yun) continue to gain more and more recognition, spreading these beautiful messages far and wide!”
