“The dance is beyond professional,” Mart Wilburn, an IT professional and business owner, said. “To me, I really enjoyed seeing all the synchronisation of the movements ... the way that they were able to express themselves ... It was just wonderful.”
Author Mike Starr said: “[Shen Yun] fills you with spirituality, hope, and healing. The beautiful music, and the fantastic colors, and the orchestra that accompanied it was incredible. They were phenomenal.”
“I experienced a real deep sense of harmony within the entertainment of the music and the dance,” he added.
“The organ harvesting scene, the story about the gentleman that lost his eyes; that was very powerful,” Andrew Gordon, a manager at a technology company, said.
“If you think about the human factor of this and what’s going on with the persecution, then that absolutely strikes a chord that I think, if you’re human, absolutely resonates,” Mr. Gordon added.
Mr. Starr said: “The message is that if you stand up for good, even though you may be persecuted, even though you may suffer difficulties, there is an opportunity and possibility for rebirth and being better than ever before.”
The audience members also shared about the messages of humanity and hope they were taking away from Shen Yun.
“What I saw in today’s message is the love, the caring, and a focus on a higher power, a focus on a greater good, a focus on God and kindness,” Mr. Starr said.
“It comes back to the human factor,” Mr. Gordon said. “Be kind, be compassionate, never judge a book by its cover, you never know what’s inside that book.”
“Arkansas needs this culture. It needs to be able to be exposed to this,” Mr. Wilburn said. He added: “There’s so many problems in the world today. We have racism, we have discrimination, and if this [Shen Yun] can bring us all together, I think that’s going to be the key to world peace.”
