Taiwan’s Chiayi County Magistrate Offers High Praise and Sincere Appreciation to Shen Yun

CHIAYI, Taiwan—Shen Yun Performing Arts, the New York–based classical Chinese dance company that tours each year internationally, has chosen Taiwan as the first stop of its Asia tour in 2026. Upon the arrival of the Shen Yun New Era Company in Chiayi County, southwestern Taiwan, Magistrate Weng Chang-liang presented a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the county government. He thanked Shen Yun for bringing a world-class artistic experience to southern Taiwan and praised the company’s long-standing commitment to conveying spiritual and traditional values through the arts.
The presentation ceremony took place in a warm and lively atmosphere. Mr. Weng spoke with Shen Yun’s emcees about the company’s achievements on its global tour and learned more about its efforts to promote traditional culture through the arts while also raising awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of faith. He expressed his sincere admiration for these endeavors.
Mr. Weng said the level of professionalism demonstrated by Shen Yun’s artists was extraordinary. “It’s almost miraculous,” he said. “The solid, rigorous training of the performers leaves many people in awe.”
He also noted that Shen Yun presents traditional Chinese culture and arts in a most authentic manner while skillfully integrating modern stage technology. “By incorporating advanced technology, such as the digital backdrop, into the stage performance, it truly gives audiences a wonderful sense of surprise as they watch,” he said.
Reflecting on the deeper significance of Shen Yun, Mr. Weng observed that the production transcends mere performance, serving as a vessel for universal values. “Shen Yun spreads the spirit related to ‘Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance,’ and shares these values with the world through artistic and cultural performances,” he said. He believes such performances provide audiences with a profound spiritual experience and lasting inspiration for the heart and mind.
Mr. Weng recalled that Shen Yun had performed many times at the Minxiong Performing Arts Center in Chiayi, with nearly every show sold out. “Each performance brought audiences a rich spiritual exchange,” he said. He therefore expressed heartfelt thanks on behalf of the county government and warmly welcomed Shen Yun to continue performing in Chiayi in the future.
All five Shen Yun performances in Chiayi sold out in advance, prompting the organizer to release restricted seating in response to strong public demand. Before arriving in Chiayi, Shen Yun had already performed 15 shows in five other Taiwanese cities, each performance fully booked.
After concluding its run in Chiayi, Shen Yun will continue on to Taipei, Taichung, and other cities, meeting the eager anticipation of audiences across Taiwan.
