“It is a colorful show that definitely transports you to a completely different atmosphere from what we are used to,” Tiziana Piacentini, a dance teacher, said. “So it is definitely a journey back through the centuries that leaves you a little amazed.”
Manuela Almonte, a musician, said, “Every now and then, I lean over because I hear very beautiful sounds coming from the orchestra pit and I enjoyed it so much. I perceived a great strength, but always a strength that carries grace and order, so very powerful.”
Luca Piacentini, a company executive, said, “I really appreciated the very positive spirit. It also talks about persecution, but it also always talks about hope, so it’s a message that I really appreciated—very beautiful.”
Paola Piacentino, a business owner, said, “I was surprised. It had a wonderful impact. The colors and images were beautiful. Since I work with clothing, I also looked at the costumes and dresses. Everything was coordinated, and the magic of the dance moved in harmony with these clothes. I really liked this style.”
Based in New York, Shen Yun simultaneously tours the world with eight different companies. Each year, the company brings an all new performance, with new dances, music, and stories to the world.
“I’m really enjoying it, it’s fascinating,” lawyer Chiara Previtera said. “It’s like stepping into a fairy tale and the performers are great professionals. They’re elegant, skilled, they’re acrobats, exceptional, acrobatic dancers.”
Ms. Piacentino said, “They are fantastic, [they] are very talented. I saw them all as very, very talented and well-rounded, and it seemed that their exercises and movements were simple, but in reality, I don’t think so. I saw their collaboration, their preparation, which I really congratulate them on because I didn’t expect it. Truly fantastic, very talented, keep it up, keep going.”
