HIGH WYCOMBE, UK—“Shen Yun makes me want to be a better person. I want to share the goodness from the show,” said project manager Kevin Long after attending the performance, visibly moved and excited.

On the evening of Feb. 28, Shen Yun World Company presented its eighth performance at the Wycombe Swan Theatre in High Wycombe, UK. Kevin Long and his wife, Lucia Long, attended the show together.

Mr. Long is a construction project manager, and Mrs. Long works as a domestic manager. After the performance, the couple said they thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

“It was very, very good. Very enjoyable. A lot of motion, a lot of color. The music is amazing. We really, really enjoyed the show,” Mr. Long said.

“The costumes are amazing—really, really good!” he added.

Mrs. Long was equally enthusiastic. “Brilliant. It’s the music, it’s the spirit, it’s the dancing. I really enjoyed everything. There’s a connection with the public—you feel like you’re part of the show, not just watching it.”

Mrs. Long was especially impressed by the dancers’ precision and synchronization. “It’s like seeing one person reflected in a mirror. They all dance at the same time, exactly the same—it’s so precise. It was beautiful.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with a mission to revive traditional Chinese culture, which emphasizes kindness and compassion.  Mr. Long believes this is especially meaningful today. “Very, very important. We get too busy in our everyday lives to think about what really matters, and a show like this grounds you and brings you back to what you should be doing.”

Mrs. Long agreed, saying, “Exactly. You stop in time, you watch the show, and it makes you think.”

She was particularly impressed by the final piece, which depicts the Creator descending to Earth to offer redemption in a time of peril and chaos.  “The last one—they bring you back to reality and to a spiritual connection, away from what we do day to day, and back to what really matters,” she said.

Mr. Long said that the performance was filled with positive and uplifting energy. “It makes me want to be good. When I leave here and meet someone, I want to give them love. I want to share the goodness from the show.”

Mrs. Long added, “I think it’s brilliant. Next year I want to bring my friends to enjoy the show with me and say, ‘Let’s celebrate life, celebrate the show, have a drink together, and be happy with the life we’ve got.’”

The couple expressed their heartfelt admiration for the performers. “They are amazing—truly amazing,” Mr. Long said. “The dedication to their art form, and the amount of time they spend choreographing and staying in sync with each other—just amazing.”
