While head of the Théâtre du Léman, Mr. Proz booked the company in 2008 and 2009, when it was still relatively unknown to the European public. “It was a surprise because, in fact, I had no idea what it was,” he said.
“I was blown away by the performance back then, which is nothing like what we’ve just seen now, which is exceptional! These are extraordinary artists. I have to say that when they take off into the sky and come back down ... I find it fabulous. Really, I’m blown away.”
Shared Values in Challenging Times
Beyond the artistic feat, the former theater director was touched by the values conveyed by the show. “Listen, I think we all need this, especially now, all over the world. These are messages that would do people good if they could follow them,” he said. This spiritual dimension touched Mr. Proz, particularly a painting evoking the Creator. “Yes, yes, it moves me. But I put it on a global level, if you like. For me, it comes from Heaven to Earth, for the whole Earth.”
He continued: “So not just for one thing, but for everything. Because we really need it today, in this somewhat difficult world.”
To sum up Shen Yun in one word, he said: “Breathtaking!”
