TAOYUAN, Taiwan—On April 27, 2025, Shen Yun held its final performance at the Taoyuan Arts Center, having staged six consecutive sold-out shows in Taoyuan, northwestern Taiwan. This also marks the conclusion of 33 flawless performances across Taiwan.
“Witnessing such a magnificent performance by Shen Yun has truly elevated my perspective. I’m deeply grateful and delighted!” said Jien-wei Yeh, Academician at Academia Sinica and Distinguished Chair Professor at National Tsing Hua University.
Jien-wei Yeh, a pioneer of the groundbreaking field of Metal Mixology, is renowned as the Father of High-Entropy Alloys. He claimed the top position in Taiwan’s 2022 Scientific Impact rankings, according to Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists’ list. Globally, he ranks second in the materials field and is the leading Chinese scientist in this area.
“When the dancers reached the final moment and struck their final pose, I found it absolutely charming and wonderful. I truly loved that moment—it was full of value,” Mr. Yeh said. He added that he couldn’t help but keep applauding.
Shen Yun is based in New York, and its mission is to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization.
“I believe the entire performance truly embodies the essence of Chinese culture—the beauty and the depth of its spirit,” Mr. Yeh said.
Shen Yun’s artists are trained in classical Chinese dance, one of the most comprehensive dance systems in the world.
“Their passion and commitment to training were evident, and the result was an outstanding performance,” Mr. Yeh said, expressing deep admiration and appreciation.
Mr. Yeh also observed a unique aura among the Shen Yun performers.
“Each of them radiated positive energy, kindness, and a strong, uplifting spirit. Not only were they all incredibly expressive, but their dedication to the performance was clear,” he said.
Mr. Yeh added that the cultural depth they conveyed was truly inspiring, and he believed the performance reached an exceptional level and carried great significance.
“Shen Yun is truly deserving of praise and should be widely promoted,” he said.

“What touched me most was a feeling, a sensation. What I saw was a smooth, flowing, and rounded beauty. It’s completely different from the mechanical, collision-based style of the West,” said lawyer Kuo-yuan Wu, who was attending a Shen Yun performance for the first time.

Mr. Wu was struck by how Shen Yun’s artists could execute difficult tumbling and spinning techniques with grace.

“When the dancers tumble and spin, their movements evoke a unique grace. It’s hard to describe, but it’s a feeling that truly moved me—the way it stirs the flow of our spirits,” Mr. Wu said.

Many audience members have felt Shen Yun’s energy while experiencing the performance, and Mr. Wu is one of them.

“I’ll mention something interesting: as I watched, I could feel my body warming up, and my energy seemed to flow in sync with the dancers’ movements, creating a smooth, circular motion,” Mr. Wu said.
Shen Yun’s live orchestra is a unique combination of traditional Chinese instruments and a classic western ensemble.
“I was truly impressed by the orchestra. I didn’t expect them to deliver such high-quality music. It was absolutely fantastic,” Mr. Wu said.
As a lawyer, Mr. Wu emphasizes the importance of evidence, but he also believes that the traditional culture and faith conveyed by Shen Yun are crucial.
“I believe faith is absolutely important. The performance highlighted how the rise of atheism and the theory of evolution has led people astray. Nowadays, many young people don’t believe that good is rewarded and evil is punished. But if we seriously consider it, if bad deeds go unpunished, society would descend into chaos,” Mr. Wu said.
