Attendees at the Palais des Congrès praised New York-based Shen Yun for its transcendent beauty.
Hubert Boussard, a former helicopter pilot, said, “I found it extraordinary. It’s truly magnificent. There’s also a bit of divine morality, and I think that’s great, especially in our current world with everything that’s happening right now. I think it’s wonderful, really. Very, very well done.”
“Very beautiful, it’s a magnificent performance. Very high level. I think the artists have an extremely high level of skill. It’s a joy to watch,” Adèle Barbotin, a sales manager, said.
Mr. Boussard said, “From an aesthetic perspective, it’s definitely excellent. The costumes are magnificent, the dresses, especially when there are movements, flips, etc. It’s truly, truly beautiful, very, very beautiful.”
He added, “I felt, how can I say, an emotion: a bit of wonder. It’s refreshing to see things that are, how should I put it, a little out of the ordinary, that display the wonder of the world.”
“Kindness, spirituality, and love for others, and I believe these are very important right now,” Jean-Pierre Suire-Duron, a former judicial officer, said. “During the performance, I felt a great deal of emotion—an immense amount. At the same time, there is a kind of sorrow for the Chinese people who can no longer live as they wish and have been living for 5,000 years.”
Mr. Boussard said, “Beauty, I think that’s what attracts our interest in the world today, having beauty. That’s essential: beauty and goodness that overcome evil. So, that’s what’s really interesting, the most interesting aspect of the performance.”
Ms. Barbotin said, “I think the values they want to convey during this performance can be very positive. I believe it can be beneficial to all the spectators who come to watch the show.”
“You have to come and see it. You must see Shen Yun. It’s truly magnificent. Really, you have to go,” Mr. Boussard said.
