SAN LORENZO DE EL ESCORIAL, Spain—Miguel Zurita, who serves as director general at a government agency, attended the Shen Yun performance at the Teatro Auditorio San Lorenzo de El Escorial on Feb. 27.

Mr. Zurita said, “The entire ensemble was wonderful, perfectly coordinated, and truly artistic.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun Performing Arts is a world premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with the mission to revive traditional Chinese culture, which is being destroyed in today’s China. Since Shen Yun’s establishment in 2006, the company has been touring the world, spreading ancient messages of wisdom and hope.

Mr. Zurita said he appreciates this message. “It is very important,” he said. “The messages delivered by both the tenor and the soprano were magnificent. We appreciate that they put the translation on the screen.”

He continued to say that the artistic director “has achieved his goal, which I believe was to reach us, to give a message [through] art.”

He also commended the live Shen Yun Orchestra, which he said “was a wonderful mix between Western and Asian instruments—wonderful as a whole.”

Classical Chinese dance, with a wide range of movements and thousands of years of history, is an expressive art form. Shen Yun’s dance drama tells stories from the ancient past to today, expressing a plethora of emotions and meanings.

Mr. Zurita was grateful for the Shen Yun emcees. “The two presenters were wonderful. It was presented splendidly, making each of the stories easy to understand.”
“We will come back next year,” he said.
