BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—Retired professor Raúl Alberto Nobile said Shen Yun Performing Arts left him with a deeply positive impression, describing the performance as a reminder of humanity’s connection to something beyond the material world.

“It was really very positive because it helps people reconnect with the energy that human beings receive from a higher force, which is sometimes hard to reach,” Mr. Nobile said after attending the performance.

Mr. Nobile attended the seventh performance by Shen Yun International Company at the Teatro Ópera in Buenos Aires on the evening of April 17, together with his wife.

Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of China’s divinely-inspired heritage that has been ignored in recent times and share with audiences the beauty of “China before communism.”

Reflecting on the themes presented in the performance, he emphasized the importance of cultural continuity and respect for older generations.

“Above all, it brings us back to a culture that keeps enriching itself day by day—something we must recover and never forget. We must respect our elders, who have the energy of life and the wisdom they have received from a higher force,” he said.

A devout Catholic, Mr. Nobile previously served for more than a decade assisting during Mass and delivering the Prayer of the Faithful.

He said the idea of a divine creator, reflected in Shen Yun’s presentation, resonates with his understanding of nature and humanity’s place within it.

“Nature, created by the supreme being, is the laboratory of life. There, we find everything human beings need—it is within our reach. We must teach humanity that this is nature. Entering nature clears the mind and nourishes the body,” he said.

He added that in a world increasingly dominated by technology, experiences like Shen Yun offer an opportunity to reconnect with deeper human values.

“The world is somewhat lost with the ‘tiki-tiki’ illness—the cellphone. Many times, we forget to talk,” he said.

Mr. Nobile previously served at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the National University of Córdoba. He was the longest-serving professor in the faculty’s PUAN program and contributed to important institutional publications and teaching materials, as well as authoring works such as Weeds Harmful to Health.
