SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico—Hiram Colón saw Shen Yun Performing Arts at Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré on Feb. 28.
“The Shen Yun artists convey the power of faith and the importance of maintaining a divine connection. It’s like planting a seed—as we say, you reap what you sow. Over time, this act of kindness will take root, blossom, and bear fruit everywhere,” said Mr. Colón, Chief of Staff for a Legislative Assembly member.
“It’s not merely a cultural revival; Shen Yun showcases the divine spiritual essence, which is the very core of Chinese culture,” Mr. Colón said.
Shen Yun’s artists are trained in classical Chinese dance, one of the most comprehensive dance systems in the world.
Throughout Shen Yun, there is an emphasis on the importance of following one’s faith and staying close to the divine by bettering oneself.
“When we cultivate our inner selves, nurture our divinity, and connect with the Supreme Being, the Creator, or whatever sacred entity we hold dear, our actions naturally gravitate toward respect, compassion, kindness, and love. Therefore, connecting with our own divinity, our inner nature, is crucial. When this inner divinity is nourished, respect flows naturally,” Mr. Colón said.
“Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are indeed principles we should follow. And the Shen Yun performance fully embodies these values,” Mr. Colón said.
Colón expressed profound respect for Shen Yun’s founder and artistic director, Mr. D.F.: “His musical mastery is extraordinary. The entire performance is grand and magnificent, with music that truly touches the soul. In fact, everything is breathtaking.”
“If given the chance, I would like to express my gratitude to him and sincerely hope he continues to create more brilliant works.”
“May you continue on this artistic path, showcasing your talents and bringing blessings to more people. As we mentioned earlier, Shen Yun artists not only present the beauty of art but also reveal divine essence through their performances.”

José Martínez, who is on the Board of Directors of the Bellas Artes Center and of the Institute of Culture, has attended Shen Yun performances for three consecutive years. “I am deeply grateful to witness all of this,” he said.
Mr. Martínez noticed the expressive quality of classical Chinese dance.
“What I love most is the dance and their way of expressing themselves,” he said.
“These dancers perform with extraordinary skill. The way they execute jumps, spins, and leaps is simply astonishing. You can see they are exceptionally well-trained.”
