A Celebrated Mission
“Shen Yun Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization based in New York,” New York State Assembly member Hon. Karl A. Brabenec wrote in a citation, “and it’s a show made in the USA that cannot be seen in China today where traditional culture has been largely destroyed under communist rule.”Assemblymember Brabenec recognized Shen Yun’s efforts as “they seek to not only entertain, but also to broadly educate, enrich, and inspire beyond cultural boundaries.”
New York State Assembly member Paula Kay sent a Proclamation that says, “Shen Yun Performing Arts seeks to revive five millennia of civilization, to breathe new life into traditional Chinese culture, to provide an experience of sublime beauty.”
20 Years of Dedication
A letter from Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler said, “This season Shen Yun celebrates its 20th anniversary, making two decades of unwavering dedication and artistic triumph often in the face of tremendous odds.”New York State Senator James Skoufis sent a letter to “recognize the talented team that allows this show to happen across the world, from performers, to show runners, to the audiovisual team, and beyond, as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.”
“Through your tireless efforts, you serve as catalysts to exposing our communities to centuries of art and wisdom that they may not regularly experience.”
Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus sent a Proclamation saying that “Shen Yun artists demonstrate extraordinary dedication, discipline, and cultural excellence.” And that “for two decades Shen Yun Performing Arts has served as a bridge between cultures, fostering greater understanding, respect, and appreciation among people of diverse backgrounds.”Artistic Freedom
Assemblymember Kay wrote in a proclamation, “The artistic freedom of the West has enabled the artists of Shen Yun to bring ancient Chinese tradition to life on stage, and in doing so, Shen Yun has become an international phenomenon to the delight and praise of audiences worldwide.”“As we celebrate the arts, we celebrate and give thanks to our American freedom, the only atmosphere in which artists can truly create, and in which Art is truly the expression of the soul.”
