MEXICO CITY—On the afternoon of May 3, Shen Yun Performing Arts presented its third performance at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City. Physical education supervisor Mrs. López attended with her husband and children, describing the experience as visually striking, emotionally powerful, and deeply refreshing.
From the opening moment, she said she was immediately captivated.
“When the curtain opened, I was stunned. All the movements are very spectacular, and all the techniques used here are very, very beautiful. It is also a very overwhelming visual experience. It is something very beautiful,” Mrs. López said.
Sitting in the center of the front row, she added that the performance felt immersive and energizing.
“We can clearly appreciate everything happening on stage and feel it. You can feel the energy coming from the stage. It feels like this: renewed, refreshed. It is very, very impactful. It is having a huge impact on me.”
Her husband, José Juan López, also expressed strong admiration for the production.
“Yes, I am moved. I am sitting still, watching all the movements,” he said.
Mrs. López said the opening segment was particularly engaging and set a strong tone for the rest of the show.
“The beginning, the introduction—it is very inviting,“ she said. ”I felt a very positive energy from that moment. I was truly amazed. And as all the dances went on, you are left completely satisfied with what you are seeing.”
She also noted that the performance helped audiences better understand Chinese culture and its historical development.
“The other pieces guide us to understand everything that Chinese culture has gone through throughout history, as they have been explaining,“ she said. ”You begin to understand many things about what this show is about.”
Mrs. López said Shen Yun’s mission carried particular relevance in today’s world.
“Unfortunately, over the years, all those values that were taught to us by our grandparents and ancestors have been gradually lost. Seeing this is like a renewal—recovering what has been lost, because it is very important. Especially in everything we are experiencing today. We must return to our roots, because this is very important for society everywhere, in any part of the world—not only here in Mexico, but everywhere.”
She added that maintaining and renewing these values is essential for society.
“We must continue forward with our values, the values our family has instilled in us. We must move forward without losing them—instead, we must renew them every day, strengthening them more and more, more firmly, more precisely.”
Her husband added that he was truly impressed by the production’s visual design and technical execution.
“Everything is beautiful. The screen effects are impressive—very, very, very beautiful. And it is wonderful that this is being presented. As they mentioned, you cannot see a show like this in China, so we are fortunate to witness it. Very beautiful.”
