LONDON, UK—Shen Yun Performing Arts captivated the audience at Eventim Apollo on Jan. 17, including Sabine and Ian Scott who enjoyed everything about the performance.

Mrs. Scott, a teacher, said the entire production was “seamless, which is absolutely brilliant.”

“It’s something I’ve wanted to come and see for some time, so it was amazing to come and see it this time. Loved it,” she said.

“We would definitely see it again,” Mr. Scott, a project manager, said.

Mr. Scott especially enjoyed the Shen Yun Orchestra, which blends Eastern and Western musical instruments and original compositions.

“It was very, very good, the music,” Mr. Scott said.

He also liked Shen Yun’s patented special effect on stage. He said he “absolutely” enjoyed the way the technology allowed for the interaction between the dancers and the animated backdrop: “I didn’t realize about the [backdrop]. So quick and so sleek,” Mr. Scott said.

Mrs. Scott said, “[The backdrop] was amazing. Magical.”

Shen Yun tours the world on a mission to revive 5,000 years of culture from “China before communism.” The performance features authentic classical Chinese dance.

Mr. Scott said he enjoyed this dance form and said, “It’s very, very good. Very expressive.”

Mrs. Scott said the dances were “expressive and artistic. “It’s such storytelling in and of itself. It’s amazing.”

Among his favorites, Mr. Scott said he liked “Peacock Paradise.” Mrs. Scott enjoyed the all-female dance called “Water Sleeves.”

“They’re absolutely amazing,” she said. “It’s very like, wow!”

She noted how elegantly the dancers moved in their costumes.

“The artistry of all the dancers, even the men—the somersaults and everything was amazing, and the agility of their bodies being able to bend in all different directions,” Mr. Scott said.

One feature of Shen Yun is its solo singers, trained in the classical bel canto method, which Mr. Scott especially enjoyed.

“The solo performers were amazing as well. All of them. There’s nothing that isn’t good. It’s all amazing,” he said.

Mrs. Scott said she would recommend Shen Yun to others. “It’s all really good. We’ve got friends who said they'd like to come see it when we go home.”

“We'll recommend this company,” Mr. Scott said. “It’s amazing, definitely something you would want to keep going because it was amazing.”

Mrs. Scott echoed her husband’s sentiments. “You’ve got to see it. You must see it,” she said.
