“You need to take your time to come out and see this show—it’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen,” he said. “This is, I think, my fourth time coming here and it is one of the most beautiful performances that I’ve ever seen.
“Congratulations to the production people, the back room people, the stage people, and all the artists and dancers and singers. They are some of the best in the world and I’m really proud to have them here in Las Vegas, Nevada.”
Elona Ostrom, a filmmaker, said Shen Yun was “[v]ery well performed and choreographed, especially the interaction with the screen and the actors—very well timed.”
Lieutenant Governor Anthony added, “The costumes are absolutely wonderful and it’s an honor for us to be able to share this tradition with the Chinese people.”
“The storytelling of the characters with the music just included everything. You can actually tell what was going on with the music and the motion of the acting,” actor Kenneth Ostrom said.
Lt. Gov. Anthony said, “It was absolutely wonderful. And I really enjoyed the message that was out there about spirituality and divinity, and how God the Creator created society and the world and how it talks about it’s not the government, especially not the Communist Party, that gives us our rights and freedom. It’s God that gives us our rights and freedom.”
Ms. Ostrom said, “It’s a good message for everyone to do good. And good overcomes evil, I think that’s a very good message. To bring out there, especially for the times we are going through right now, I think it’s needed.”
Since taking power in 1949, China’s communist regime has disconnected today’s Chinese people from their authentic culture, and persecuted those with faith. Shen Yun is unable to perform in China because it exposes the regime’s human rights abuses, including its brutal persecution of faith.
“It’s one of the things that should never be lost. You should never lose your heritage, your communication, your connection with your own history,” Mr. Ostrom said.
“I believe that you should be sharing the dance and the Shen Yun performance all over the world. It’s unfortunate that it’s not allowed in China, but we welcome you in the great United States of America for the last 20 years and for another 20 years and beyond,” Lt. Gov. Anthony said.
