ORLANDO, Fla.—Richard Delgaudio, president of a publishing company, and his wife, Emy, an organization chairman, thoroughly enjoyed Shen Yun Performing Arts’ matinee at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on April 28.
“The performers—amazing. I am a performing arts dancer myself. It’s just amazing looking at the precision, the movement—very graceful. This is our third year, and it’s different every time,” Mrs. Delgaudio said.
“We are [a group of] nine today, and it’s just amazing. God bless. I love the way that the message about atheism was highlighted today. It’s just amazing how brave [the artists] are, coming up with a good message like that.”
Since being introduced to the company, the couple has made it a tradition each year to bring along more friends and family, sharing the beauty of Shen Yun with them.
Endowed with 5,000 years of history, China was once known as the “Land of the Divine.” For millennia, its people believed that by keeping their hearts pure and adhering to strict moral standards, they would be blessed by the divine.
“I’m touched listening to the music and the message,” she shared. “Being rightful and true to the faith is what we would like to hold on to.”
Though the company has received widespread acclaim since its inception in 2006, due to the artists’ focus on reviving traditional culture and presenting the truth of events under communist rule in present-day China, it is currently forbidden by the regime from performing there.
“The fight [against communism] continues. This is the finest way to share with the world what’s bad about communism, and that there are alternatives. I think it’s such a wonderful slogan: China before communism. …We’re absolutely delighted.”
