On Jan. 8, Mr. Marcello D’Aponte, a prominent cultural figure in Naples, sent a congratulatory letter welcoming Shen Yun’s 2026 tour to Italy’s Campania region, which includes cities such as Naples and Avellino.

Mr. D’Aponte serves as the director of the Historical Archives and Museum under the Bank of Naples and as the chief advisor to the Naples Bank Foundation. He is also a professor of law at the University of Naples Federico II—founded in 1224—and a practicing attorney before the Italian Supreme Court.

In his congratulatory letter, Mr. D’Aponte wrote: “Shen Yun carries an important mission to revive five thousand years of traditional Chinese culture and its precious wisdom, including core values such as compassion, faith, forbearance, and courage. They (Shen Yun artists) are carrying on this noble mission with such dedication and sacrifice. I extend my deepest gratitude and encouragement to these artists.”
Mr. D’Aponte, who has previously seen Shen Yun, said: “I hope more Italian people will come to the theater to see the show, as this cultural sharing has profound significance in today’s society.” He concluded by wishing Shen Yun a successful 2026 tour in Italy.

“Truly beautiful and amazing! It’s well worth watching. Most importantly, it gives us a glimpse into China’s long civilization and the true essence of its history, which has extraordinary value,” Mr. Stocco said after watching Shen Yun.

Mr. Stocco is the co-founder and shareholder of a company manufacturing workwear and industrial cleaning products. After his company was acquired in 2021 by Rubix, one of Europe’s largest industrial supply and maintenance distributors, he continued to work at the company. Mr. Stocco and his friend, bank executive Mr. Federico Borgato, attended Shen Yun together.

Their friends recommended the show to them. Mr. Stocco said he wanted to understand genuine Chinese culture and the traditional values conveyed by the show. “I mainly wanted to experience Chinese culture. But more importantly, I wanted to appreciate the music and the values conveyed by the stories. I think Shen Yun is truly worth recommending.”

China has long been revered as the Divine Land, and Shen Yun showcases the authentic, divinely-inspired traditional Chinese culture. Mr. Stocco strongly agreed with this and expressed deep appreciation for the divinity conveyed by the show.

He stated: “In fact, this culture is not about secular values or material values. First, it conveys the values of friendship, helping others, and community. These are the true values because the time we spend in the mortal world is very short. To us humans, it may seem long—fifty, eighty, or a hundred years—but in the reality of the universe, it is nothing but a drop in the ocean. The soul is eternal, and I believe what this culture intends to convey is precisely this divine value.”

Mr. Stocco praised Shen Yun, saying that it brought him immense inner calm and joy.

He exclaimed, “Most importantly, it brings inner peace and a sense of spiritual freshness. Even more importantly, it conveys immense joy, which is especially evident in the costumes, colors, and music. They are all extremely exquisite, and the artists are very talented.”

Bank executive Mr. Borgato agreed, saying, “Absolutely! I love the way all the artists perform, and the orchestra’s music is captivating. Everything is incredibly beautiful.” He enthusiastically praised the show, calling it “extremely wonderful,” and said that he and his family had wanted to watch Shen Yun for a long time. “Therefore, I must congratulate everyone involved in the show. I believe they will be very successful in the future.”

“In our culture, it is rare to see such perfectly coordinated performances,” Mr. Maurizio Frezza, a first-time Shen Yun viewer, marveled at the artists’ perfect synchronization.

Mr. Frezza, an interior designer, is the president of his own furniture and decoration firm. Reflecting on Shen Yun’s seamless fusion of dance, music, and stage design, he described it as highly creative and meticulously crafted.

“Many surprising scenes add extraordinary charm to the show. The stage design could be acclaimed as a genius creation, and the orchestra’s performance is pinpoint accurate. It is extraordinary coordination and marvelous creativity,” he said.

Mr. Frezza also shared his understanding of the lyrics in Shen Yun’s songs.

“The lyrics conveyed through the singing invite deep reflection,” he said. “They present a profound contemplation of human nature. I believe they call for a kind of spiritual rebirth, as well as a revival of culture and the arts.”

Mr. Frezza praised the Shen Yun artists for their extraordinary abilities and their capacity to convey emotion to the audience through every detail.

He also marveled at the Shen Yun artists’ extraordinary skills and their ability to communicate emotion through every nuance of the performance.

“They communicate their remarkable inner strength in every movement,” he said. “Without that, none of this could be achieved.”

Summing up his experience, he added, “A visual delight and an emotional experience. I recommend Shen Yun to everyone. And knowing that the program changes every year makes me eager to return.”
