PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil— “I had goosebumps the entire time. Everything was so beautiful,” Rogério Gernhardt said after seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts. “Even now, just thinking about it makes me want to cry again. I can hardly speak because I’m almost in tears again right now.”
On May 10, 2026, Rogério Gernhardt attended Shen Yun International Company’s performance at Teatro FIERGS in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Mr. Gernhardt works as a financial manager at an insurance brokerage company.
“The performance was incredible and completely surprising,” Mr. Gernhardt said, his eyes filled with tears. “I loved it so much. I never expected it would be this good. Very, very good. Incredible. Truly amazing.”
Asked what touched his heart most deeply, he answered almost immediately: “Everything.”
“The whole performance was extremely moving,” he said. “It was so beautiful, unbelievably beautiful. I expected it would be nice, but I never imagined it would be this beautiful. It completely surprised me.”
Mr. Gernhardt said he deeply admired Shen Yun’s mission of cultural revival.
“They succeeded,” he said. “Congratulations to them! They achieved something truly wonderful. The performance was excellent. I’m so emotional that I honestly don’t even know what to say.”
Mr. Gernhardt recalled that the opening piece and the finale left the strongest impression on him, describing both as especially striking.
“That ending was fantastic—so beautiful, incredibly beautiful,” he said. “And the opening was astonishing too. Every scene that appeared surprised me. Especially the opening with the mist-like atmosphere—it was all so beautiful. Truly remarkable!”
Mr. Gernhardt said the scenes depicting the Creator saving humanity carried a powerful emotional impact for him, as he could genuinely feel the divine presence in the performance.
“Absolutely,” he said. “I’m a spiritual person, so for me, it’s easier to feel that.”
He then described his emotional reaction while watching Shen Yun.
“I had goosebumps the whole time,” he said. “It was so beautiful, truly beautiful. I was almost in tears during the performance. And even now, remembering it makes me feel like crying again.”
Mr. Gernhardt also agreed with audience members who said Shen Yun is changing the world through its mission.
“I think that’s true,” he said. “Because I never expected something could be this wonderful. I think this is exactly what we need today. This is what the world needs—more things like this.”
Reflecting on the effort behind the production, Mr. Gernhardt expressed deep admiration for the artists.
“I keep imagining all the work and rehearsals these artists must have gone through,” he said. “It’s truly incredible. Absolutely incredible.”
Finally, he offered heartfelt congratulations to Shen Yun’s artists.
“Congratulations—you are amazing!” he said. “Sensational! I completely fell in love with Shen Yun. Next year, I’ll definitely come back to see it again because I never imagined something could be created with such perfection. Congratulations to all of you!”
