MURCIA, Spain—On the evening of March 28, Shen Yun Performing Arts opened its 2026 run in Murcia with a performance at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas, where it was met with a warm and enthusiastic reception from the audience.
Among those in attendance was Teresa Castaño Hernández, an occupational risk prevention professional with over 20 years of experience. Attending the performance with her husband, she described the evening as both uplifting and deeply restorative.
“I leave with my eyes full of light—I leave with peace,” Ms. Castaño said. “I had the feeling of being in heaven. I needed this; I had been feeling very restless for a long time, and this made me pause. It allowed me to enjoy something majestic, as if I were almost touching heaven.”
The tickets, she explained, had been a special gift for her husband, and their close proximity to the stage allowed her to fully take in the performers’ expressions.
“I was able to observe the faces of the dancers, who are also actors,” she said. “They conveyed happiness and love to me. I will take that home with me—and I will definitely come back next year.”
“What impressed me most was the wardrobe—the garments full of color,” she said. “They felt so ethereal; they floated like clouds. That captivated me deeply.”
“The music was like medicine—truly, it made you vibrate inside,” Ms. Castaño said. “We even noticed the respect and silence among the musicians as they prepared between pieces. Everything carried a very mystical quality, very spiritual—a reminder not to forget that you have a soul, that there is so much more.”
“First of all, thank you—thank you for your passion,” she said. “I could see it in their faces and in how they played. Please don’t give it up. Those who are born with the gift to uplift and help others must continue. Thank you for coming from so far away—we will keep coming back to see you.”
She was eager to recommend the performance to those who haven’t had the chance to see Shen Yun. “You have to experience it for yourself—it’s completely different,” she said. “Don’t expect something familiar. It’s so much more. I felt like I could almost touch heaven. Next year, I’ll tell my friends and family, ‘You’re coming with us.’”
