Prior to the show, Councilman Hernández López presented a proclamation to Shen Yun welcoming the artists to the city, and recognizing the company’s global impact in reviving traditional Chinese culture. He said that “each of the stories we were visualizing, experiencing, and enjoying with them makes us reflect on how we can bring about those changes and initiatives that each of us, as human beings, can strengthen as a community.”
“Well, Chinese culture and art are dazzling, their dances, their traditions, their history, their culture, even their divine, celestial connection. I found it marvelous, I enjoyed it very much,” Congressman Sánchez González said.
Councilman Hernández Lopez added, “Congratulations, because in each of the stories they’re telling us, through dance, through song, and through that unique folklore that they perform so well, just as the Guadalajara style is also known for, we become fully immersed in that harmony.”
Congressman Sánchez González said, “I loved it. I am joyful. I feel happiness, spiritual peace, which is something very important.”
“It’s pure magic. The music carries us and helps us remember the great values we have as human beings,” Councilman Hernández Lopez said. “Shen Yun goes beyond what we just saw. It’s about bringing that magic to where we currently live.”
He added, “Today, Shen Yun reminds us of this through dance, folklore, music, and magic, and brings us together. And it reminds us of the deep commitment we have to each and every one of them and the kind of people we truly need to be.”
“I believe it’s an injection of spiritual vitamins, more than anything, that helps me to recognize or remember that more than the material, it is the spiritual that is important in life,” Congressman González said.
Councilman Hernández López said, “Don’t stop doing it. Keep it up. I know you’ve been doing this for 20 years, celebrating all along, but keep going for more. It’s worth it. Being able to share these kinds of values through dance and folklore will mean a lot to the public, especially here in Jalisco and Guadalajara.”
