SWANSEA, UK—Fresco artist Charles Snell described Shen Yun Performing Arts as an inspiring and uplifting experience, praising both its artistic mastery and meaningful message.

On the afternoon of March 25, Shen Yun presented its second local performance of the 2026 season at the Swansea Building Society Arena in Swansea—the second-largest city in Wales and a popular tourist destination.

Reflecting on the performance, Mr. Snell highlighted its exceptional artistic quality and visual appeal. “It’s lovely to see something at that level of high quality,” he said, noting that the dancers’ movements and vibrant colors stood out to him. “The movement of the dancers and the colors—it was really, really interesting.”

Accompanied by his three children and father-in-law, he added that the performance offered a particularly inspiring example for young people pursuing the arts. “Seeing people performing at that level is great,” he said. “It’s very inspiring and uplifting,” especially for those with a background in ballet and performance.

Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, dedicated to reviving 5,000 years of China’s divinely inspired heritage and sharing the beauty of “China before communism” with audiences worldwide.
Mr. Snell also appreciated the show’s presentation of traditional Chinese culture. “It was definitely eye-opening,” he said. “There’s nowhere really in British culture you can learn things like this unless you really go looking for it.” He reflected on the deeper values conveyed through the performance, emphasizing the importance of recognizing one’s inner gifts: “Everyone has a gift that they can share with the world,” he said. “People forget that.”
The spiritual dimension of the performance left a strong impression on Mr. Snell. “It gives you a sense of elevation,” he said. “It kind of reminds you that you have a soul—and it’s beautiful to watch.”

Through classical Chinese dance, Shen Yun brings to life the beauty of traditional Chinese culture while revealing the true nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Since coming to power, the CCP has systematically distorted and eroded China’s cultural heritage, through campaigns such as the Cultural Revolution and the ongoing persecution of faith groups.

Mr. Snell was particularly moved by the resilience of the human spirit that was conveyed on stage. “You can’t really get to someone’s soul,” he said. “You can try to suppress someone’s spirit for a long time, but eventually it will come through. Because your soul is divine—you can’t touch that.”

Mr. Snell also commended the baritone’s performance and the simple, poetic lyrics that he said carried a profound message.

“I liked the idea in the song—the simple message about a Creator,” he said. “That’s something that’s kind of missing in our culture—the idea that you have a soul and live according to that.”

In closing, he expressed his admiration for the performers and encouraged others to experience the show. “Congratulations—amazing,” he said. “I would recommend people to go and see it.”
