“My daughter loves everything that’s China. So that’s the reason I’m here, and she’s having a great time. It’s beautiful,” said Mr. Sherrod, a regional business director.
“I think that just trying to understand the history of China and just how beautiful the dancing is and the outfits that they wear and the stories that they tell—it’s like all-encompassing. It’s really neat to understand it,” Mr. Sherrod said.
Mr. Sherrod’s daughter shared that she enjoyed the “Water Sleeves” dance.
“That was beautiful. I hope they do a couple more of those. That was really fantastic—the water sleeves. But the stories are all great. The stories, the history of China—phenomenal,” Mr. Sherrod said.
He enjoyed the dance stories where the characters work through tribulations to achieve a goal.
“I like the woman in Confucius. That was really cool. She fought through, and she made it happen. So that was kind of neat,” Mr. Sherrod said.
One that left a deep impression told the true story of Falun Dafa practitioners following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Despite their goodness, they are being persecuted for their faith in present-day China.
“Any form of persecution against any religion … I’m not a fan of. So it’s good that they are fighting back,” Mr. Sherrod said.
“I think people should be free to practice where they want, and that’s how we are in America. Obviously, it’s a little different in China, but that’s something we can’t control, unfortunately,” he added.
“The more they show and explain about China and the history of China and how powerful it is, more people understand it,” Mr. Sherrod said.
