SALZBURG, Austria—Zoltan and Christine Kesmarki are both professional dancers and choreographers, and they operate a dance school together. In the meantime, they are also Shen Yun fans. On March 7, they saw Shen Yun at the Großes Festspielhaus.
They both think highly of the performance and said that they have “the highest respect to the choreographers and the dancers, and the musicians as well.” Especially for the artistic director, Mr. Kesmark said, “He gave humanity a gift, and today we saw that gift.”
“Back when we were young, we were professional dancers. That’s why we know what it means to dance and can judge the quality of the dancers very well.” Mrs. Kesmark said, “These [Shen Yun] dancers, their synchronization, their perfect dance movement is unbelievable! They move with such elasticity, as if they had no bones. It’s simply a dream!”
Mr. Kesmark said, “The costumes, the music, the combination with modern technology, it’s beautiful and heartwarming. Sometimes I feel the beauty almost brings me to tears—it’s that beautiful. And the precision, the choreography, the dancers, the synchronization—you hardly even see that in state operas or large famous opera houses.”
“Yes, that’s true.” Mrs. Kesmark continued, “This is dancing from another sphere. It takes you on a journey where you can simply breathe deeply and just enjoy.”
Shen Yun was founded in 2006 in New York. As Mrs. Kesmark found out that this year is Shen Yun’s 20th anniversary, she said, “Keep going. And hopefully for many hundreds of years more!”
Mrs. Kesmark points out that the traditional values presented in the performance “are very important reminders for today’s people. People suddenly wake up and help others. Good ultimately triumphs, and that is the most beautiful thing. And it’s very beautiful to bring these thoughts back into our hearts.”
Thinking about the artistic director, Mr. Kesmark said, “It surely wasn’t easy for him to start this; he probably had to fight very hard to make all of these happen. But no matter how difficult it was, it was worth it. He gave humanity a gift, and today we saw that gift.”
Mrs. Kesmark added, “Thank you very much—a thousand thanks for the beautiful evening.”
