FÜSSEN, Germany—On the evening of April 11, Shen Yun World Company performed to a full house at the Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein in Füssen, Germany. The performance drew enthusiastic responses from audiences from the surrounding region and nearby cities, including visitors from neighboring Austria.

Among them was Herbert Johler, a senior employee at Austria’s Public Employment Service in the state of Vorarlberg, who attended the performance with Karin Grabher, a human resources professional in the glass industry.

“The show is extraordinary—so colorful, so diverse,” Mr. Johler said. “The acrobatics and the movements of the male and female dancers are sensational.”

Ms. Grabher also praised the performance’s artistic presentation. “It is very, very beautiful and very varied. It’s incredible how the artists worked together to create these images, and what a wonderful effect it has—it brings great joy,” she said.

Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with a mission to revive traditional Chinese culture. Rooted in Confucian, Buddhist, and Taoist values, this culture emphasizes reverence for heaven, moral values, mutual respect, kindness, and tolerance. However, it was nearly destroyed by decades of communist rule.

Mr. Johler was particularly appreciative of the cultural values reflected in the performance. “We preserve tradition very much, and at the same time we are open to new things,” he said. “This combination is typical for our region.”

He emphasized the importance of such values in today’s world. “Tolerance is very important in our time, because there is so much misunderstanding toward others,” Mr. Johler said. “That is why I truly appreciate seeing other cultures presented here, such as Chinese culture. It is very important for mutual understanding among people.”

Deeply impressed by the experience, Mr. Johler recommended the performance to others. “It has been an extraordinary evening so far—one that I can only recommend to everyone,” he said.

Looking ahead, he also expressed his hope that Shen Yun could one day perform in his home region. “I can only recommend it,” he said. “In Bregenz, where we are from, there is also a large festival hall—this performance could take place there as well. That would be wonderful.”
