WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—“Incredibly colorful. It is a visual and audio extravaganza—absolutely gorgeous,” said entrepreneur Timothy Kendall after seeing Shen Yun.
On the afternoon of Feb. 3, Mr. Kendall attended Shen Yun’s second local performance at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, with his wife and daughter.
Mr. Kendall is the president of a real estate firm. The Kendall family has been involved in property construction, sales, and management in Palm Beach County, Florida, for more than 50 years.
Mr. Kendall admired how Shen Yun presents traditional culture through refined artistic expression.
“I love the traditional elements—bringing in faith and all the different cultural elements involved,” he said.
“I think this show is going to be something we keep as a tradition,” he said. “For many years, we saw it advertised and passed it by. I know they change the show every year, bringing something a little different. I’d like to keep coming back, because in a very hectic world, it has a calming influence.”
“Many of these elements feel universal,” he said. “I had no idea about this before, and the performance gave me a lot to reflect on spiritually.”
Mr. Kendall also expressed deep appreciation for the artists’ dedication to reviving traditional values.
“In a world with so much hatred, strife, anger, and vulgarity, this is a respite,” he said. “It’s like a holiday—a chance to step away and recognize that there are still people who hold to traditional values: peace, faith, love, temperance, discipline. It is a blessing.”
He said he wanted to thank Shen Yun’s artistic director and performers wholeheartedly.
“I’m very appreciative, and I hope they continue year after year and train others to carry this forward,” he said.
