PARIS—Psychologist Catherine Buhl was among the audience members enjoyed Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Palais des Congrès in Paris on May 10.

This was Shen Yun’s third and final stop in Paris this season, which began last December and has just come to a close. The New York-based arts company is the world’s foremost classical Chinese dance company.

“I found this show very, very colorful, joyful! I particularly liked the women and the women‘s image it presents,” Buhl said.

“It was a real discovery, these women who are both very delicate, who can be very elegant and graceful, then very dynamic, combative. I came with my daughter and I‘m glad she saw this show.”

Through 20 dance and music vignettes, Shen Yun seeks to revive the 5,000 years of Chinese civilization. The culture is one said to be divinely inspired, and despite its ancient origins, has for the past 13 years inspired modern audiences from all walks of life.

“It is an enchanted [performance], an inspiration for future generations. A [performance] anchored in tradition that will perhaps remind them that other things, alternatives are possible, happier and ... more harmonious and colorful,” Buhl said.

“I am very happy!”
