When it comes to getting rid of stinky breath, a majority of people adopt various temporary solutions rather than understanding the origin of the issue. In some cases, severe health conditions, lifestyle, habits, and dietary routine can make tremendous contributions to bad breath. A constant dry mouth also causes foul breath by gathering dead cells on your tongue. Extreme consumption of soft drinks, alcohol, tobacco products, and caffeine can play an effective role in causing bad breath. Severe dieting is another major reason of stinky breath.

Bad breath, if left untreated, can make grave impressions on your regular routine. The following are a few natural remedies that can help you fight against stinking breath.

Utilize Baking Soda

Baking soda, an incredible remedy for bad breath, creates a less-friendly environment for bacteria by altering acidity level of your mouth. After brushing your teeth with a pinch of baking soda, rinse your mouth with water. You can also get various toothpastes that already include baking soda. Make sure to gently scrub the surface of your tongue with a toothbrush or a tongue cleaner so as to remove many odorous food fragments that lead to bad breath.

Make Citrus Fruits A Part Of Your Diet

A dry mouth often results in foul breath. If that is the case with you, simply devour citrus fruits such as grapefruit, orange, or lemon. The citric acid present in these fruits can significantly help to enhance quality of your breath. It stimulates saliva present in your mouth which eventually helps ward off smell causing bacteria. Also, the tangy and strong taste of citrus fruits leaves a fresh smell in your mouth.

Use Effective Mouthwash

If you use a mouth rinse or a mouthwash, it is extremely important to choose the one that does not contain alcohol. The reason being, alcohol plays a significant role in causing bad breath. Furthermore, medical studies have indicated that mouthwashes having more than a particular amount of alcohol raise your chances of developing oral cancer. You can also try a mouthwash that contains zinc ions as zinc is able to neutralize smell-causing compounds in order to develop fresh breath.

Drink Proper Fluids

Initial medical researches indicate that some compounds and antioxidants present in both black and green tea can potentially reduce development of bacteria that cause foul breath. Moreover, they also take in loads of fluids as they do not let your mouth experience dry conditions.

Use Natural Herbs

Avoid using chewing gums and sweet mouth fresheners as these sugary items support plaque buildup in your mouth. Instead, use natural herbs to refresh your breath. You can always chew on small pieces of fresh rosemary, spearmint, peppermint, parsley, basil, or tarragon.

Gargle With Natural Solutions

You can add a few drops of tea tree oil in warm water to rinse your mouth with. Adding a pinch of salt to water can also make an effective mouthwash as it can remove bacteria from your tonsils and throat.

In order to efficiently fix your bad breath, you need to know what’s actually causing it. Mostly, improper oral hygiene, a dirty mouth, decaying food fragments, and dental problems are the sources of stink. To get rid of stinky breath, it is much better to adopt natural remedies rather than spending a hefty amount on different ineffective products.
