NEW YORK—Ms. Krystle Kelley, an international model, was struck by the beauty displayed by Shen Yun Performing Arts.

She was lucky to catch the company’s final performance in New York for the 2013 season at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater on April 28.

Ms. Kelley had high praise for the female dancers.

“They were absolutely stunning,” she said.

She especially enjoyed watching the dance piece An Early Spring. This Northeastern folk dance often leaves audience members amazed with the vibrant colors and skillful twirling of handkerchiefs.

“It was beautiful, I loved the twirling and the dancing,” she said. “It was perfection.”

Touring the world’s top venues, Shen Yun has grown to become a global sensation since its inception six years ago.

Shen Yun boasts three companies with award-winning dancers, renowned singers, and a full-scale orchestra that blends classical and Chinese instruments. It’s aim is to revive classical Chinese traditions and culture.

“Through the universal language of music and dance, Shen Yun weaves a wondrous tapestry of heavenly realms, ancient legends, and modern heroic tales, taking you on a journey through 5,000 years of Chinese culture,” states the Shen Yun website.

Ms. Kelley would enthusiastically recommend the show to her friends. “It really shows the Chinese culture in a way that people don’t really get to see. This was my first time [seeing Shen Yun] it was really fun and I hope I get to see it again next year.”
