Face Cream From Mexico Tainted With Mercury Puts California Woman in Semi-Comatose State

California health authorities say a woman is in a semi-comatose state after using face cream imported from Mexico tainted with mercury.

The unnamed woman had been poisoned with methylmercury after using a jar labeled Pond’s Rejuveness cream, according to the Department of Health Services in Sacramento, which said she had picked up the jar through an “informal network.”
