In 2007 my life took an unexpected detour during a trip to Paris. What was meant to be a joyful adventure turned into a fight for survival as I battled deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. It was a scary and uncertain time, but little did I know, it would lead me on a journey of profound transformation and healing.
The road to recovery was tough. I spent days in hospital rooms, grappling with pain and uncertainty. But through it all, I found strength in the simple act of walking. Each step was a victory, a testament to my resilience and determination to reclaim my life. Yet, the physical recovery was just the beginning. I struggled with medication management and the lingering effects of trauma, facing post-traumatic stress disorder and overwhelming feelings of shame and regret.
