TAINAN, Taiwan—Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company graced the Tainan Municipal Cultural Center for the fourth time the afternoon of Feb. 22.

Among the audience was Wang Kunyuan, minister of education of Tainan County, which is adjacent to City of Tainan.

“Why don’t I give a summary. It is exuberant. It is very stunning, including sound, light, music; they all matched perfectly.

“This [DPA] is very large-scale. It is very strong.”

Mr. Wang noted that since the beginning of the programs, the stage was arranged nicely and neatly. The backdrops, whether portraying descending of gods or the mundane world, were all coordinated wonderfully. The show was well-knit and genuinely captured the audience.

“It wouldn’t allow you to have any other thoughts. Your heart would be taken into the rhythms of the performance. Basically, the show was very captivating.”

The moment the curtain rose to deliver the first program, The Five Millennia Begin, Mr. Wang said that the scene struck his soul.

“You know, usually I stay very busy at my job. When the program launched, I was stunned. It just completely relaxed me. I felt as if I was watching that opening program sitting on top of a cloud.”

Aside from The Five Millennia Begin, Mr. Wang picked The Udumbara’s Bloom and Flowing Sleeves for the programs that left the deepest impression.

“In these programs, not only was I able to enjoy a display of high artistry but also learn about a cultural heritage and its inner meaning. They were classic.”
