“Fine art at its best has the power to move one to tears, or grab your sensibilities and rivet you in the moment with an overwhelming sense of beauty and excitement,” Art Renewal Center (ARC) founder and chairman Fredrick Ross wrote in “The Philosophy of the ARC. Why Realism?”
Since 1999, the ARC has championed realist art. Some key activities undertaken by the New Jersey-based non-profit to promote realist art worldwide include its annual international salon and accompanying exhibition.
From July 17 through July 27, auction house Sotheby’s New York will host the “17th/18th International ARC Salon Exhibition.” The ARC selected around 100 realist drawings, paintings, and sculptures from its last two salons. That’s 100 chances for exhibition visitors to experience moving “fine art at its best.”
Some of the exhibits are on loan from the ARC collection and private art collections. But nearly half of the exhibits will be available to purchase at Sotheby’s New York or via the ARC website.
