ADELAIDE, Australia—Monday, April 6, will be a night to be remembered for theatergoers at The Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Shen Yun left viewers in awe as ancient Chinese legends were brought to life through spectacular dance, song, and vibrant costumes.

When asked their thoughts of the show, it was obvious retirees Mr. and Mrs. Nealyon were moved by this unique performance. “I think the show was absolutely wonderful. The production was marvelous, we enjoyed every bit of it. And the costumes, magnificent, and the colors were just excellent,” Mr. Nealyon said.

We might even see Mrs. Nealyon back again tomorrow, she was so impressed. “I’d love to see it again!”

Mr. Nealyon, who hosts his own radio show in his community, was equally impressed, “What more can I say? But just to say, the whole production, the dancers, the costumes, the projection, everything was perfect. It was really fantastic.”

After seeing Shen Yun both felt a deeper appreciation and understanding of classical Chinese dance and Chinese culture as a whole. Shen Yun brings traditional Chinese culture to life on stage with an emphasis on the lost values of virtue and beauty.

“Although none of it [the dancing] was spoken, we were still able to gain the meaning of it, and I think the wisdom was clear in the words that we did see with the captions. I think it’s tremendous. And a lot of it does apply to today’s climate and the problems that we have.”

Mr. Nealyon was touched by the messages expressed through the dance: “I think the message it did bring home was that sometimes we overlook the things that we have got. We’re looking for other things out there in the world, but perhaps we have got them closer than we think.”

Shen Yun is in Adelaide for two more shows tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
