Being a lady is about more than how you sit, stand, talk, and walk—though we’ll cover that, too! A true lady shows respect for herself and others. Let’s bring back the golden days of good manners.
Sit Like a Lady
Some of us were lucky enough to have had grandmothers who taught us “Don’t slouch!” until we learned to sit with our head up, shoulders back and spine straight, knees crossed or together. Except when on a low chair, we learned to not cross our legs. Instead, hold your knees together and lean them to the side.Similarly, don’t step or climb into a car; instead, sit on the edge of the seat, then turn into the vehicle while pulling your legs in. Getting out on a red carpet? Put both feet firmly on the asphalt prior to standing.
