This week, we feature a story about rebuilding after loss and a modern retelling of a classic fairy tale.

New Release

‘Rebuilding’

After a wildfire destroys his ranch, Coloradan Dusty (Josh O’Connor) lands in a FEMA camp. There, he reconnects with his ex-wife Ruby (Meghann Fahy) and daughter Callie-Rose (Lily LaTorre), and begins to piece together a sense of belonging and the faint promise of a new start.

It’s nice to see a film that looks at what comes after disasters instead of brushing it aside. O’Connor is great as Dusty, and it’s hard to believe he’s actually British. The film moves at its own pace and leaves a sense of inspiring renewal.

Drama Release Date: Nov. 14, 2025 (limited) Director: Max Walker-Silverman Starring: Josh O'Connor, Eli Malouff, Meghann Fahy Running Time: 1 hour, 35 minutes MPAA Rating: PG Where to Watch: Theaters Rated: 4 stars out of 5

Peppa Pig (Harriette Cox) and her family are preparing for a brand-new arrival, and Peppa isn’t sure what to expect. Between fixing up the house and learning how to share the spotlight, life is about to get a lot busier at the Pig household.

This hour-long animated film serves as a gentle first trip to the movies for the little ones, filled with short stories and cheerful songs. It’s warm, funny, and reassuring, with moments that parents will find sweet and genuine. A simple, joyful celebration of family and new beginnings.

Old Formula, New Sparkle

‘A Cinderella Story’

Sam (Hilary Duff) spends her days working for her bossy stepmother and her nights chatting online with “Nomad,” a mystery boy who turns out to be school heartthrob Austin (Chad Michael Murray). When a school dance and a dash of courage collide, Sam learns that even modern fairy tales can come true.

Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray make a charming pair, and even with every trope in the book, it’s the kind of light teen romance that still works when you’re in the mood for something simple and fun.

Comedy | Romance Release Date: July 16, 2004 Director: Mark Rosman Starring: Hilary Duff, Jennifer Coolidge, Chad Michael Murray Running time: 1 hours, 35 minutes MPAA Rating: PG Where to Watch: Amazon, Fandango at Home, Spectrum on Demand Rated: 3 stars out of 5

Courage on the Range

‘Gunsmoke’

Drifter Reb Kittridge (Audie Murphy) takes a job in Montana and ends up fighting alongside a rancher and his daughter (Susan Cabot) to protect their herd from a greedy cattle boss.

A familiar story that still rides tall, carried by solid performances and striking scenery. It doesn’t reinvent the genre, but it’s well-made and worth a watch for those who enjoy classic Westerns.
