This week, we feature a humorous holiday tale built around family bonds and a vintage 1980s techno thriller packed with suspense.

New Release

‘Tinsel Town’

Bradley Mack (Kiefer Sutherland), a former star running on fumes, tries to reinvent himself on a small English stage. As he adjusts to local theater chaos and his eccentric castmates, his daughter Emma (Matilda Firth) shows up just in time to witness his struggles.
Bradley’s growth from fame fatigue to a man waking up to what really matters in life gives the film its charm, helped along by an English village that stays puzzled yet supportive. The story nudges him toward fresh starts, reconnection, and the pull of family.

Family Pick

‘The Peanuts Movie’

Charlie Brown (Noah Schnapp) sets his sights on the new girl next door, hoping to prove he can finally win at something. Meanwhile, Snoopy fires up his typewriter and his imagination, taking flight as a daring ace chasing the Red Baron and his dog Fifi (Kristin Chenoweth).
It’s nice to see a film that remembers how to have fun without rushing it. The animation feels fresh while keeping the charm of the original comic, and the humor works the way it should. It shows that a mix of kindness and persistence can still win the day.

‘WarGames’

Teen hacker David (Matthew Broderick) and friend Jennifer (Ally Sheedy) break into what they think is a game network, but they trigger a military computer’s real nuclear launch sequence. David is forced to track down its creator to avoid disaster.
This film plays like a smart joke on human overconfidence, turning early computer fascination into a near meltdown while grinning. It pokes fun at our faith in machines while slipping in a message that still fits: Sometimes the best move is to not play at all.

A royal daydream of charm, wit, and a touch of mischief, this classic romcom stays light on drama and rich in style, with direction and performances that shine throughout.
