Tim Lovelace is a gifted storyteller. By day, he hosts the SiriusXM podcast and nationally syndicated radio series “Moments That Motivate.” By night, he performs in the states and abroad, sharing his stories, music, and comedy with people who appreciate his uplifting and positive perspective.
In recent years, fans began telling Lovelace that he should put the stories he shares with audiences in book form so they can be revisited. Lovelace liked the idea and ran with it, and on July 14, he released his debut book, “Green Rain: Inspiring Short Stories from the Unique Perspective of a Humorist,” published by Pathway Press.
The book offers 50 of the performer’s most entertaining and thought-provoking stories. For the multitalented Lovelace, whether working on an album, podcast segment, or book, it’s all about the story.
Catching Moments

The “Green Rain” author explained that as far back as the world’s earliest civilizations, storytelling served as both a practical function and a social function. “Storytelling was how we kept our history going,” he said. “Whether you’re reading the Bible or reading stories of poetry and fables that were passed down, it was not only just a form of entertainment, but it was a [form of] connection.”
Over the years, Lovelace has spent his time connecting with listeners by sharing laugh-out-loud, moving stories from his own experiences. One of his favorite real-life anecdotes included in “Green Rain” involves instructions on how to train a common backyard mammal, the squirrel. More appropriately, Lovelace joked, the story is about “how not to train a squirrel.”
The author also gave advice about how to keep one’s passion, or “song,” alive through adversity. And he shared a wild tale about a run-in with what he describes as a rogue alligator he accidentally nicknamed “Bubbles.”
He said that stories can help us notice the value in everyday moments and inspire us to take a more active approach to life. “I think the little moments are also big. ... We can step into a moment. It’s not just waiting on things to happen,” he said. “We all can encourage one another and step into moments, and then that ends up motivating us, and [that leads to] living life fuller each and every day.”
A ‘Celebration of America’

The writer and musician caught one of those moments on July 3 while performing at the Kennedy Center for a special event honoring America’s 250th anniversary. He performed a patriotic medley titled “Celebration of America” that he arranged for his January 2026 album, “On a Different Note.” The record features Lovelace’s inspired piano work backed by orchestral sounds. Critically acclaimed harmonica player Charlie McCoy guest appears on select tracks.
The song selection boasts Lovelace’s renditions of classic American anthems like “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” and “God Bless America,” as well as interpretations of classics like “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” and spiritual standards like “In the Garden.” The performer was inspired by his faith, his love of country, and the history of traditional American music while working on the StowTown Records release.
The Gospel Music Hall of Fame member enjoys hitting the road and performing for fans. Montana was a recent performance stop, as well as Alberta, Canada. He regularly adds new performances to his tour schedule.
When asked how he juggles podcast episodes, performances, and recording sessions, he said he enjoys pushing himself artistically. “I love the challenge of different things, you know? I want to learn different things,” he said.
He also enjoys each time he gets to share his comedy, music, and stories with a new audience because each live experience is unique. “It’s exciting. It’s a time to be with people that will never happen again, and they’ve taken time out of their life,” he said as he reflected on it. “Every single time is exciting.”
