The American high school movie is a fascinating genre. No other country in the world is as infatuated with high school as we are, and so the slicing and dicing of those four years that we’ve come to believe should be the best four years of our lives (college running a close second)—goes on ad infinitum. The favorite topic we never seem to tire of is the American version of the Hogwarts Sorting Hat.
