This has been a long time coming, as Andreya Triana has been making excellent guest appearances for ages now with the likes of Flying Lotus, Mr Scruff and Bonobo, who produced this album. Lost Where I Belong was worth the wait; it’s a solid album showing promise for Andreya’s future as a singer and songwriter. Andreya’s voice is gorgeous, bearing all the hallmarks of the classic soul singers, but her unique songwriting and Bonobo’s smooth production keep this album thoroughly in the now. This is a deeply reflective piece of work, something to put on when you’re in the mood for kicking back and savouring the complexities of contemporary London soul.
