It’s always going to be a bit of a stretch for us non-producing musos when confronted with an album that is obviously created for the sample-seekers, crate-diggers and aspiring J Dillas out there. Drawn from De Wolfe library music, Bite Harder has infectious grooves, funkadelia and hip-shaking instrumentals.

If you like blaxploitation soundtracks or want some background beats while entertaining guests, then this is the album for you. But if you’re looking for something that sticks in your mind or to sing along with then you’re probably best off waiting until a talented producer samples these tracks and turns them into something a bit more mainstream.
